David A. Galiyas, Jr.

David A. Galiyas, Jr., 29, of San Francisco, CA, formerly of Dexter, MI, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019. He was a purchaser for Apple, Inc., a 2007 graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School, a 2011 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 2018 graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University Business School. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a former member of St. Joseph Parish in Dexter, MI. Born June 7, 1989 in Monterey, CA, he was a son of David A. and Grayce M. (Mowry) Galiyas of California, MD. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Jennifer (Mizel) Djukic of Arlington, VA; brother, Alexander Galiyas of California, MD; nephews, Julian and Aidan Djukic; maternal grandmother, Leila Mowry of Derry; godmother, Mary Beth (Kevin) Moore of Peters Township; godfather, G. Victor (Cynthia) Mowry of Derry; also, aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 3-8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 9:30 AM in St. Michael Parish with Rev. Zachary Galiyas officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Memorial contributions may be made to Detroit Catholic Central High School, 27225 Wixom Road, Novi, MI 48374.
