Albert G. Uhrin

Albert G. Uhrin, age 91 of Port Vue, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 in Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth.  Born October 13, 1926 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George and Anna (Anchak) Uhrin.  A parishioner of St. Mark's Parish, Albert worked at US Steel's National Tube Works in McKeesport, at his brother's shop "Eddie's TV" in Versailles, and also drove cars for several local dealerships.  He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the Port Vue Seniors.  Albert was most importantly a devoted family man who was very involved in his children's, grandchildren's, and great-grandchildren's lives.  He joins his loving wife of 64 years, the late Joan M. (Mima) Uhrin who passed away July 18, 2014, and a son, the late Thomas Uhrin who passed away in 1982.  Albert is survived by his daughters Kathy (Tom) Van Horn, Barb Lape, and Joanie Kohler, all of Port Vue; his eight grandchildren: Keith (April), Jim (Nikki) and Stacy Van Horn, Jeff (Jill) and Jesse (Lizz) Lape, Shelly (Ryan) Nolte, Katelyn (Mike) Jalosky, and Nina Kohler; and his fourteen great-grandsons: Zack, Dylan, Alex, Ethan, Dustin, River, Max, Lucas, Domenick, Nash, Rex, Riley, AJ, and Eli (with two on the way.)  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 2 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Mark's Parish, Port Vue Site, with Fr. Daniel Straughn officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.  Memorial contributions in Albert's name should be made to Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth, 145 Broadlawn Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037.
