Our Drivers

Whether going to a home or hospital to bring a loved one back to our funeral home, parking cars or driving the hearse on the day of the funeral, our drivers are often the first people from Bekavac Funeral Homes whom a family meets. Any time at night, even at a morgue of a hospital where no one but a security guard will see them, our drivers are in a dark suit, clean cut, and in a clean vehicle. Funerals are one of the last vestiges of dignity in our society; and that dignity starts, sometimes, at 2:00 AM when no one is looking.

Ralph Bernardo

Like many of our drivers, Ralph is a lifetime Clairtonian and a longtime friend of the funeral home. Ralph retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Pittsburgh and lives in Jefferson Hills with his wife Linda.

Randy Eshelman

Randy was born and raised in Westmoreland County and relocated to the South Hills for his 40-year career in EMS. He began working for us following his retirement. Randy and his wife, Linda reside in Baldwin Township.

Darren Hanlon

Darren was born in St. Clair Hospital, raised in Baldwin Borough and graduated from Brentwood High School. He obtained an associate degree from CCAC South Campus. Darren has lived in Colorado and Minnesota, is an organic gardener, and a metalsmith by trade. He is a proud husband and father of one.

Bob Liptak

Bob is a retired bus driver from Port Authority and began working with our family in 2013. A native of Elrama, Bob currently resides in Elizabeth Twp. with his wife Beth.

Joe Ranalli

A classmate at Clairton High School with Paul Bekavac, Joe has always been a good friend of ours. After his retirement as a detective for the Washington DC Police Department, Joe has helped at the funeral home for more than two decades. He currently lives in Versailles and is an assistant baseball coach at Bethel Park.

Jack Smith

Jack, a former Clairton Police Officer and employee of the Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin, began working at the funeral homes upon his retirement. He lives in Elizabeth Township with his wife Gail.

Bob Sporio

With Paul Bekavac’s retirement, Bob continually reminds us that he is the longest tenured employee of Bekavac Funeral Homes.  A native of Clairton and friend of all of ours for many years, Bob is a retired teacher at South Park High School. He lives in Jefferson Hills.
