Zona Jean (Hood) Shaffer

Zona Jean Shaffer, age 78, of Bunola, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at home. She was a member of Bunola Church of the Nazarene where she was a former organist. Born July 12, 1938 in West Elizabeth, she was a daughter of Margaret (Kibe) Hood of Pleasant Hills and the late Leroy Hood. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles E. Shaffer; sons, Charles L. (Theresa) Shaffer of Youngstown, OH, and Brian (Margaret) Shaffer of Bunola; granddaughters, Jillian, Jennifer, Lindsey, Stephanie, Brenda and Courtney; great-granddaughters, Alexis and Maddox; sister, Sandy (David) Todd of Pleasant Hills; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by sister, June Marnell. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 6 until the time of service at 7:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronald Doran officiating.
