William D. Bekavac

William D. Bekavac, age 66 of Liberty Borough and formerly of Glassport, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in UPMC East Hospital.  Born November 10, 1950 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Korposh) Bekavac.  A member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Christy Park, William attended Edinboro University, was the former Vice President of purchasing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and also worked for Allegheny County Juvenile Services.  He was a member of the Croatian Men's Club and CFU Lodge #146, and he was a former WPIAL football and basketball referee.  William is survived by his daughters Dana Bekavac of Elizabeth and Samantha Horne of Westview, his brother David (Donna) Bekavac of Coppell, TX, his sister Cathy Bekavac of Highspire, PA, and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home, Versailles, on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 4 PM to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Patrick's Church at 10 AM with Fr. Thomas Galvin officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to St. Nicholas Cemetery, North Versailles.
