Sophie (Tamborino) Jupin

Sophie Jupin, age 95 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2017 in Hanover Hospital in Hanover, PA.  Born April 2, 1921 in Coal Center, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Teresa (Calabrese) Tamborino.  A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Sophie loved to play cards, especially Pinochle and Patience.  She loved to tell stories about the "Good Ole' Days," and had a wonderful sense of humor, an engaging personality, and an infectious laugh.  Her grandchildren idolized her and were always held captive by her stories, antics, and, most of all, love.  She was predeceased by her husband, the late Louis Jupin.  Sophie is survived by her children Louis R. (Julie) Jupin of Hanover and Kathy (Jack) Poziviak of Clairton; her five grandchildren Jennifer (Tom) Walkinshaw, Jack (Melonie) and Justin (Alana) Poziviak, Brianna (Ryan) Hunsberger, and Katie Jupin; her ten great-grandchildren Tyler, Morgan, Seth, Sydney, Maya, Jaxson, Milena, Reese, Sofia, and Roman; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clairton.  Procession and burial to follow to Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
