Marie J. (Ripepi) DeSimone

Marie J. DeSimone, age 94 of Jefferson Hills, passed away at the Center for Compassionate Care in Mt. Lebanon on Thursday, July 6, 2017.  Born May 14, 1923 in Gallatin, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Triglia) Ripepi.  A retired department manager with KMart in Pleasant Hills, Marie was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton and the Sons of Columbus Ladies #6.   Even more, though, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years the late Joseph F. DeSimone, who passed away October 19, 2013, and her grandson Michael Ackman.  Marie is survived by her children Marlene (Terry) Ackman, Dennis M. DeSimone, and Ronald J. (the late Carla) DeSimone, all of Jefferson Hills; her grandchildren Elizabeth and Lindsay Ackman, Leah (John) Desimone-Zeiler, and Phillip DeSimone; her great-granddaughter Simone Marie Zeiler; her siblings Dominic (Josephine) Ripepi of Jefferson Hills, and Frances (the late Dutch) Lofstrom, Pat Ripepi, and Antoinette Rothacker, all of Clairton; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6 to 9 PM and Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Church, Clairton, with burial and procession to follow to St. Clare Cemetery.
