John T. Williams

John T. Williams, age 72, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired after 25 years as a custodian at Western Psychiatric Hospital in Pittsburgh. An Army veteran having served in Vietnam, he was a member of Elizabeth Wesleyan Church and Blaine Hill VFW. He was a volunteer at Elizabeth Boro Food Bank and enjoyed bowling, going to Steelers games, and meeting with his friends at Denny’s. Born November 20, 1944 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Bushnell Harold and Mary Belle (Morgan) Williams, and husband of the late Ruth Ann (Vidil) Williams. He is survived by daughter, Traci (David) Stiffey of North Versailles; son, Jon (Danica) Williams of Marquette Heights, IL; grandchildren, Justin and Hailee Williams, and Sean and Sarah Stiffey; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, David Williams. Friends will be received Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 1-3 and 5-8 PM in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth. A Funeral Service will be Friday, August 11, 2017 in the funeral home chapel at 10 AM with Pastor Roy A. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elizabeth Boro Food Bank, 735 Bunola River Road, Elizabeth, PA 15037 or Elizabeth Wesleyan Church, 205 Church Street, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
