Helen L. (Smith) Perry

Helen L. Perry, age 98 of Jefferson Hills and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Jefferson Hills Manor.  Born February 2, 1919 in Scottdale, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Georgeanne (Day) Smith and wife of the late Thomas Perry, who passed away January 25, 1977.  Helen was an active member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Clairton, serving as the former treasurer of its missionary group; however, her family will remember and miss her always as an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.  She is survived by her children Anthony Perry and his longtime companion Iris Machesky of Jefferson Hills, Candice Perry of Clairton, Boyce Perry of McKeesport, Marcus Perry of Clairton, and Richard Perry of North Carolina; her grandchildren Toni Lynn Richardson of Clairton, Heidi Parks of Dubois, Quinlin Smith of Aliquippa, and Justin, Devin, Griffin, Noah, and Boyce Perry, Jr.; her eight great-grandchildren; and her four great-great-grandchildren.   Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Ernestine Nowakowski and her son Jefferson Perry.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11 AM in Morning Star Baptist Church, Clairton.  Procession and burial will follow to Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
