Helen M. (Picone) Gobel

Helen M. Gobel, age 88 of Liberty Borough, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth.  Born August 22, 1928 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Camille (Yanni) Picone.  A retired salesperson at The Golden Rule in McKeesport, Helen was a parishioner and member of the former Christian Mothers Club at St. Mark's/St. Eugene's Parish in Liberty Borough.  She was preceded in death by her husband George F. Gobel, who passed away October 31, 1991, and her brothers, the late Anthony, Arthur, James, and Albert Picone.  Helen is survived by her children Diane (Gary) Antonella, George S. (Linda) Gobel, Bob Gobel, and Richard (Jan) Gobel; her seven grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 2 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Mark's Parish - Liberty Borough Site with Fr. Daniel Straughn officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to St. Mary's German Cemetery in McKeesport.
