Harold "Sonny" R. Shelpman Jr.

Harold "Sonny" R. Shelpman Jr., age 83, of Sarver, and formerly of Forward Township passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, H.J. Heinz Campus. A Marine veteran having served in the Korean War, he retired as a crane operator for J & L Steel in Pittsburgh. Born December 14, 1933 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Harold R. Shelpman Sr. and the late Gladys (Simon) Shelpman. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Regina (Maharik) Shelpman; daughter, Lori A. (David) Mason of Sarver; grandchildren, Brian  (Kristen) Mason, Melissa (Keith) Miller and Mikayla Mason; great-grandson, Bryson Mason; siblings, Carol Ann Stanko of Las Vegas, NV, John "Jack" Shelpman of Florida, Gerald Shelpman of Bethel Park, Betty Thompson of Erie, Donald "Don" Shelpman and David "Davie" Shelpman, both of Pittsburgh; also, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 1-3 and 5 until the time of blessing service at 7 PM with the Rev. Thomas Wagner officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
