Eunice B. (Barchie) Pollak

Eunice B. Pollak, age 78 of Liberty Borough, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.  Born December 25, 1938 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Nick and Alberta (Stratton) Barchie.  A member of St. Mark's Parish, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and member of its Christian Mothers Club, she was the glue that held her family together.  They will remember her as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Eunice is survived by her husband of 58 years Lenart J. Pollak; her children Timothy (Nancy) Pollak of Frederick, MD, William (Stephanie) Pollak of Woodbridge, VA, Kathleen (Peter) Huntington of Bethel Park, and Terri (Scott) Mitchell of Liberty Borough; her grandchildren Becky, Nick, Mike, and Chelsea Polllak, Lacey Von Haden, Katherine and Bobby Huntington, and Emily and Casey Mitchell; her great-granddaughter Amelia Lynn Serbia; her siblings Pat Forsyth of Bethel Park, Betty (Pat) Shriane of Port Vue, Tom (Joy) Barchie of Manchester Twp., NJ, and Paul (Luann) Barchie of Fairfield, CT; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon L. Pollak and her siblings Alberta Dulac, Sr. Teresa Barchie, and Nick Barchie.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM and Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Mark's Parish, Liberty Borough Site, with Fr. Daniel Straughn officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Versailles.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E. Ohio St., Ste. 500, Chicago, IL  60611 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Ste. E 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
