Emma D. (Cadena) Berchok

Emma D. (Cadena) Berchok, age 77 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born March 4, 1940 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Hravcic) Cadena.  A former customer service representative for Three Rivers Bank in Large, Emma was an active member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Clairton and its Ladies' Guild, a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, and the former secretary of the Wilson AARP.  Most importantly, Emma's kindness and generosity to others will never be forgotten, especially by her family whom she loved and who will love and miss her always.  She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years John R. Berchok; her children Jackie (Joe) Herrle of Murrysville and Brian (Gwen) Berchok of Elizabeth; her grandchildren Brian Berchok, Olivia Ciotti Herrle, Jocelyn Berchok, and Madeline Herrle; her siblings Bernadette Mazza of Upper St. Clair and Alfred L. Cadena of Clairton; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her sister Lillian Martini.  There is no visitation for Emma.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 in Mother of Sorrows Parish, Murrysville, at 10 AM with Fr. Eric Dinga officiating.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Emma's name should be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or the Wounded Warriors Project, 201 Grant St., Ste. 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.  Arrangements by the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton.
