Christine Marie (Pribanich) Spanbauer

Christine M. Spanbauer, age 65 of Liberty Borough, passed away at home on Monday, January 22, 2018 after a 7 1/2 year fight with cancer.  Born November 26, 1952 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Olga (Knezevich) Pribanich of Glassport and the late John Pribanich.  A retired school nurse with South Allegheny School District and a member of the former Sacred Heart Parish in McKeesport, Christine was a member of the PSEA, the CFU, and the Association for School Nursing.  She was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother, loved to garden and cook, loved the Pittsburgh Penguins, traveled the world with and for her whole family, and loved to add her own touch to personalized greeting cards.  Besides her mother, Christine is survived by her husband of 43 years Gerald J. Spanbauer; her children Gerald J. (Jennifer) Spanbauer, II of Elizabeth Twp., Christopher J. (Anna E. Berkey) Spanbauer of Kittanning, and Jennifer (Matthew) Zarit of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren Nathan, Natalie, Leo, Sam, and Lucy; her siblings John R. (Rosanne) Pribanich of East McKeesport, Kathy (William) Bevil of Paducah, KY, Janice (Ed) Gambone of Tampa, FL; and also nieces and nephews.  Interment will be private at the request of the family.  The family asks that memorial contributions for Christine be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.  Arrangements by the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles.
