Carrie E. (Sickles) Check

Carrie E. (Sickles) Check, age 97, of Forward Township, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. She was a former waitress at K-Mart in Pleasant Hills and a former member of the West Elizabeth United Methodist Church. Born May 20, 1919 in West Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late William and Mayme (McQuown) Sickles and wife of the late Joseph Check. She is survived by children, Joann (the late George) Armstrong of Michigan City, IN, Edward (the late Barbara) Check of Jefferson Hills, Karen Lee (James) Downey of Westville, IN, Joseph (late Patricia) Check of Elizabeth Twp., and Robert Check with whom she resided; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8PM. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kathleen Soltis officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
